Marcel Lapierre Raisins Gaulois Rouge

Domaine Lapierre is located in Villié-Morgon, in the Beaujolais region. Family business for three generations, grandfather Michel Lapierre settled in Villié-Morgon at the beginning of the century as a cellar master at the "Domaine des Chênes". After World War II, it was his son who succeeded him. He then sought to develop barrel sales to bistros in Lyon and Mâcon. At the end of the 1950s, he started selling his production in bottles and expanded the farm by buying some plots. In 1973, with a clientele forged by his father, Marcel Lapierre took over the operation that later had 7 hectares. It was from 1981, under the impulse of Jules Chauvet, a well-known and recognized researcher at the Universities of California, that Marcel Lapierre decided to vinify without sulfur or yeast and cultivate his vines in a biodynamic way: without chemical fertilizers or herbicides. Today, despite its disappearance, the energy of the domain remains intact. The wine estate, planted entirely with the Gamay grape variety (which has an average age of 70 years), now occupies 16.5 hectares.
